Who is SAH?..

Art, in its truest form, should be the pure manifestation of the contents of one’s soul and creative mind. As a true artist, Sah Ril is able to communicate his inner most thoughts through a simple melody or phrase.

Transcending the ideals of many popular, mass produced, “musicians” today, he attempts to challenge his listeners with new ideas..

Not just a creator, Sah is an innovator as well.. Drawing inspiration from a broad spectrum of sources including early hip-hop, world culture, indie rock, politics, funk, religion, 80’s pop, and even folk; he proves that true art is not confined by the limits of genre, race, class, or sex…

Sah dares to experiment and take chances to express himself. He does this by taking charge of all components (Writing. Production. Recording. Artwork. Distribution) in his works. In the spirit of his greatest musical influences, Sah gives his fans something they can relate to and enjoy-while seeking to continue the tradition of true artistry in music….

…so…how would i describe myself?…well, thats a tough one. for multiple reasons.

firstly, i (like you, i’m sure) am ever evolving… and i dont say that to sound cool (on the odd chance it does), it’s just- i have currently decided to place less emphasis on defining myself. instead, i’m trying to  naturally fall into whatever my unspoken-definition may already be, by simply just “letting it be” (yeah, i know- OD, but it’s me). second, i (again- like you, i’m sure) have a nice little personal-serving-size bag of insecurities that eat away at every moment i’m ever given to describe, support, or promote whatever it is i do and am (workin on that one too- can’t you tell). and thirdly,… (well, there is no third reason…i just need certain things to be delivered in three’s i guess :shrug: ..go figure)…i’m a writer (uh, duh)…but my greatest love, is probably music. i mean, no. i know it’s music, but thats not enough. i love music and i love to make music. i “rap”. i sing (that should have DOUBLE quotations lol). i play at (or play, whatever) a couple instruments: guitar,piano…hambone..and i also produce music. i’m an audio engineer- sans engineering job to “validate” it (nor any idea of how i will find one). i’m a music journalist (apparently by nature) and i’d suppose i’m some sort of entrepreneur/aspiring business man, cuz all i can think about these days is: business, business, business. i’m a photographer. i’m a poet. i like to make things. i like watching things being made. i’m an optimist. i’m a lover. i like women (like, really like women). i like art. i’ve made a few CDs, and dont intend on stopping anytime soon (doubt that i can really). on each CD i wrote, performed, produced, recorded, designed, distributed, promoted… (you get it, you get it- i’m a control freak). how would you define my music? well, chances are you’d call it hip hop…and i guess it is, but hip hop alone doesnt cover my tastes or my creative manifestations (see: bio/blurb above). i’m a failure, and because of this. i am a success. not because i believe i am (yet) but because i’m choosing to believe i can, and will, be. i am everything i am, and maybe even, ALL that i am…bottom line is this. all of these words i am pouring onto these many pages/posts crowd my mind incessantly until i release them. i’ve tried running from it. hiding from it. denying it. and shaming myself for it. but i know no other reality. i have literally decided to dive into this existence, then, until death or new life becomes me (i still havent decided if that makes me a fool, but i know i’m already “in it”). if this strange, strange self-description still doesnt do me justice (or rather answer any questions you have as to “who sah is”) you can always email me at that little blue address directly below. plus my “personal pages” on the right, might offer a little insight as well. other than that?…um yeah…refer to the red print up top (i tend to feel more comfortable in the words of others when it come to me anyway…just thought i have a few words here from myself as well).
